Who is Bonnie?

I have been a resident of Cypress for over 50 years. My family had a dairy and sold its land to the Cypress School District in the 1960's. I enjoy being an active member within our community, meeting with residents, visiting our  businesses, while shopping, dining and playing local.  

I received my A.A. from Cypress College and my B.A. in Finance from California State University Fullerton. I was pleased to be awarded the Cypress College 2022 Alumnus of the Year, celebrating my 40th anniversary of graduation.  Cypress College helped set the stage for my future education and career.       

I began my career at Parker Hannifin Corporation a $12B company and stayed with them for 35 years. I had many different roles, but my biggest contribution was as a leader for small and large businesses within the company. I learned quickly the importance of being authentic, and motivating teams toward common goals. This experience gave me the foundation needed to be on the city council.   

I served for four years as a Cypress School District Board Trustee. I am involved in the community, volunteering and supporting Cypress Champions Baseball, Boys & Girls Club of Central Orange Coast, Woman's Club of Cypress, Royal Family Kids Camp for foster children, Seacoast Grace Church and Cypress Police Foundation. In addition to supporting our son's love of first responders, we have visited 72 fire stations within Orange County, and another 50 fire stations across the U.S.  

I have been married to Jon for 39 years. We have one son, Michael, who lives at home and is in a special day work program. We enjoy taking road trips, traveling to Hawaii and spending time with family.
